Review papers referenced in new National Academies / EPA report

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) has commissioned the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to form a committee to identify emerging scientific and technological advances from across a broad range of disciplines that the ORD should consider in its research planning to support the EPA’s mission to protect human health and the environment.

In their report, the National Academies have included a section on emerging technologies for biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring, including referencing our review article on frontiers in behavioural ecotoxicology, which was recently published in Biological Reviews. Also, our new review published in Science on big data animal tracking is cited. It is very encouraging to see these bodies discussing research in this space, especially in the context of transforming the EPA's approaches! Read the full report here (see pages 120 and 83).
