Lars Hierta Memorial Foundation Grant
I am very grateful to have received funding support, along with my co-investigators Marcus Michelangeli and Tomas Brodin, from the Lars Hierta Memorial Foundation. This grant will be used to purchase equipment necessary for upcoming research testing the impacts of pharmaceutical pollution on the behaviour and ecology of one of Sweden’s most common fish species, the roach (Rutilus rutilus). We will combine laboratory- and field-based approaches to examine whether and how exposure to common pharmaceutical contaminants impacts group-level behaviour in this species, and what subsequent effects this may have on the survival of individuals and populations.
